Quotes and Work Orders

Quotes are estimates based on the information and access provided. They are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise. If existing systems or site conditions differ from what was disclosed, additional costs may apply. Any changes to scope will be agreed with you before work continues.

Payments

Payment is due on completion unless staged payments are agreed (e.g., first and second fix). Large projects may require a non-refundable deposit. We accept cash, card, and bank transfer. Certificates or documentation may be withheld until full payment is received.

Access, Safety, and Waste

Please ensure safe, reasonable access to work areas and existing systems. We follow current building regulations and safe working practices. Standard pricing excludes removal of rubble or general waste unless agreed. Chasing or making good (e.g., plaster/decoration) is excluded unless specified.

Materials and Title

All goods supplied remain the property of AJL Plumbing and Heating Ltd until invoices are paid in full. Manufacturer warranties apply where provided; warranties may be voided by misuse, poor maintenance, or third-party alterations.

Liability

We do not exclude liability where it cannot be limited by law. Otherwise, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the site or delays caused by events outside our control (e.g., parts shortages, weather, third-party delays).

Service Conditions (Numbered)

1. Installation standards: All installs comply with current building regs and safe working practices.
2. Existing systems: Prices assume existing systems are safe/functional; remedial works to bring them up to standard may incur extra costs.
3. Deposits: Larger projects may require a non-refundable deposit before work begins.
4. Stage payments: Where work is split (e.g., first/second fix), part payment may be due after each stage.
5. Accepted payments: Cash, card, or bank transfer only.
6. Non-payment: Certificates or documentation may be withheld until full payment is received.
7. Variations: Additional works not in the original scope will be charged separately (labour plus materials).
8. Quote validity: Estimates remain valid for 30 days from issue.
9. Waste removal: Standard pricing excludes removal of rubble, packaging, and waste unless agreed.
10. Making good: Chases and holes are left unfilled unless specified; final decoration is excluded.
11. Title of goods: Goods remain AJL property until all sums due are paid in full.
12. Compliance: Gas Safe, F-Gas, and other regulatory requirements are followed for relevant works.
13. Scheduling: Dates are agreed in advance; unforeseen delays (parts, access, weather) may require rescheduling.
14. Customer responsibilities: Provide accurate information, safe access, and necessary utilities (power/water) to complete works.
15. Aftercare: Report issues promptly; we will address workmanship concerns in line with agreed warranty terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
